Hospitality Improvements
For LS One 2020.1 we have not only added new great hospitality functionality such as the KDS and recipe management but also worked on improving our existing hospitality functionality. Here is a list of our most important changes:
Menu type
Operations "Set hospitality menu type" and "Change hospitality menu type" now have the possibility to set a specific menu type on the button in the POS layout, so that the menu type selection dialog will not be displayed. This enables you to create a specific button for each of your menu types rather than having to select from the Set menu dialog.
If the menu type operation does not have a specific menu type selected then the Set/Change hospitality menu dialog displayed. This dialog has now am new design and improved usability.
Previously you had to sell the first item before being able to select a menu type this has now been fixed and it is now possible to set menu type before the first item has been sold.
Send to station
The hospitality type has a setting on when items should be sent to the kitchen stations. We reduced the options for "Send to station" printing for hospitality types to make it more clear what the options do. This setting now works for both KDS and when using a physical printer through the "Station printing" setup.
The send to kitchen dialog also received a make over with improved usability, and it was renamed to "Send to station". The dialog displays the menu types that have been selected for the transaction and the user can pick one or multiple menu types to send. If all items should be sent that can be done with one button press "Print all".
If no menu types are selected the dialog will just display a question to the user if all items should be sent to station.
We also fixed a few bugs in the sending to kitchen functionality:
-
Previously when items were sent to the kitchen and then voided the change was not sent to the kitchen when returning to the table view.
-
Sending voided items to the kitchen had to be triggered manually this has now been fixed
-
'POS Posting', 'POS exit' and 'POS posting' or 'POS exit' were all behaving the same
Split bill
We worked on getting our split bill functionality better and fixed the following issues:
-
Solved an issue in hospitality where a transaction could not be concluded when only voided items remained after splitting the bill.
-
Fixed a bug where payment lines were discarded if all items were moved from one side to the other when performing split-bill.
-
Voided items were lost when performing a split-bill operation.
-
Item selection was lost when the items were moved back from guest to table
